AI and WIL1
Building on the June 2026 workshop on writing pedagogy after genAI, this session focuses on a short student primer developed by the 2025 Special Committee on Generative AI in College Composition and Writing Studies. Using the primer’s categories as a guide for discussion, we’ll explore the tensions we see in WIL1 classes around genAI, the issues our students raise around genAI, and build our capacity for focusing conversations around AI in ways that also focus our WIL1 learning goals.
